CrMS - Fertility Charting Counseling

Abstract

Patient (and spouse, if applicable) were counseled on natural family planning. The UPMC Divine Mercy Women's Health OBGYN office has an affiliated NFP Program specializing in the Creighton Model FertilityCare(TM) System (CrMS). I have recommended learning CrMS over other methods of NFP as CrMS is the basis for NaProTECHNOLOGY(R) treatments. Other NFP models can be used, if desired by the patient/couple, but the protocols from NaProTECHNOLOGY(R) may not be as effective as if CrMS is used.\n\nCrMS will aid in both the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of NaProTECHNOLOGY(R) treatment to aid in correcting underlying gynecologic dysfunctions, some of which may play a role in subfertility/infertility and pregnancy loss.\n\nThe CrMS training is typically a longitudinal learning process facilitated by a FertilityCare(TM) Practitioner, who teaches the method. The initial training, an "Introductory Session", is often in a large group setting. Subsequent sessions are individual/couple based, and are necessary for the successful implementation and continuation of use.\n\nStandard education timing for first year:\n1) Introductory Session ASAP\n2) 2 weeks after Intro: 1st Follow-Up\n3) 2 weeks after 1st: 2nd Follow-Up\n4) 2 weeks after 2nd: 3rd Follow-Up\n5) 2 weeks after 3rd: 4th Follow-Up\n6) 4 weeks after 4th: 5th Follow-Up\n7) 12 weeks after 5th: 6th Follow-Up\n8) 12 weeks after 6th: 7th Follow-Up\n9) 12 weeks after 7th: 8th Follow-Up\n\nAfter first year, Follow-Ups every 6-12 months.
