Vaginal Discharge Recording System (VDRS)

The Vaginal Discharge Recording System (VDRS) is the standardized observation-and-coding framework used in the Creighton Model FertilityCare System to record every charted day with a structured combination of mucus type, stretch length, color, and sensation. Hilgers introduced the VDRS as a proprietary component of CrMS to create a uniform charting language across practitioners and clinical settings.79 Each observation entry produces a coded descriptor that any trained FertilityCare Practitioner or NaPro clinician can read and interpret consistently. This standardization transforms daily observations into clinically actionable data. A mucus entry is not just noted as present. It is coded with a type from the mucus quality descriptor vocabulary, a stretch measurement, a color category, and a sensation qualifier. That coded record feeds cycle-timed medical decisions, including progesterone protocol timing, surgical scheduling, and infertility evaluation.
