About This Course

Mikayla Dalton is a certified Boston Cross Check Method instructor who has taught fertility awareness by video since 2011. She's also written educational resources for Tempdrop and consulted for Premom. This 15-lesson course, recorded live for the Save the Uterus Club, asks one question. Is femtech advancing reproductive medicine, or quietly redefining it? Dr. Naomi Whittaker hosts the conversation.

The first lessons tour the devices. Mikayla explains the hormones they measure: LH, E3G, PdG, and FSH. She shows why an actual hormone concentration can reveal what a strip's test-to-control ratio misses. She walks through Mira, Proov, and Inito, and why someone trained should still read the numbers. A published Mira case follows cycles that became clearly ovulatory after diet, lifestyle, and supplement changes. Then come the charting apps: Premom, Natural Cycles, and Read Your Body. Read Your Body is non-algorithmic, owned by a nonprofit, and costs about $24 a year.

Later lessons show what the numbers add to restorative care. The data gives a closer look at a possible luteal phase defect and tracks FSH trends with fewer blood draws. Mikayla is just as direct about the pitfalls. Proprietary algorithms can undercut body literacy and fit poorly with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS / PCOS), endometriosis, postpartum, and perimenopause. Fixed hormone cutoffs can miss the start of the fertile window. She also covers wearables, the questions to ask at intake, and why anyone charting should export their data every cycle. The course closes with a live Q&A on data privacy and whether urine tests can stand in for blood work.
