Urine LH Test (Ovulation Predictor Kit)

A urine LH test is a home test strip that detects the rise of luteinizing hormone in urine, the signal that an egg is about to be released. A positive result means the strip caught the rise that day. A negative result means it did not catch it.

These strips help, and they have limits. In a study of 20 regularly cycling women, no rise was detected at all in 9 of 38 cycles. When a rise did appear, it fell on the mucus Peak Day or up to three days before it in 28 of 29 cycles.1

A strip marks one moment. Cervical mucus builds over several days, so it shows a woman when her fertile time is opening and not only when it is closing.
