CD138 (Syndecan-1) Immunohistochemistry

A staining technique used on endometrial biopsy specimens to identify plasma cells, which are pathognomonic (definitively diagnostic) for chronic endometritis. CD138 IHC is more sensitive than routine histology alone for detecting chronic endometritis and is the current standard for diagnosis when chronic endometritis is suspected.²⁶
