Take-Home Baby Rate

The take-home baby rate is the share of couples who go home with a living baby. It counts a live birth only when the newborn is discharged home. It is the strictest of the pregnancy outcome measures.

Many published fertility figures stop earlier, at a positive test or a confirmed pregnancy, and those numbers run higher. A Spanish cohort of 1,310 couples treated with NaProTechnology reported a take-home baby rate of 35.3 percent as a simple count and 62.1 percent once adjusted for time in the program.1 Adjusted rates ran from 83.7 percent at ages 18 to 30 down to 24.4 percent above 40.1

Ask for this number. It answers what a couple actually wants to know.
