TwoDay Method
The TwoDay Method asks a woman two questions each day: did I notice secretions today, and did I notice them yesterday? If either answer is yes, the day counts as fertile.
In a trial of 450 women in three countries, the first-year pregnancy rate was 3.5 per 100 women when couples avoided intercourse on flagged days, and 13.7 per 100 women when every cycle and pregnancy was counted.1 After the first cycle, 96.4 percent said they had no trouble telling whether secretions were present.1
The method is simple by design. One yes-or-no answer does not describe the mucus cycle in the detail a clinician reads when looking for a cause.
