Assisted Reproduction · Registries and Reporting
Abstract
This yearbook (Jahrbuch) of the Deutsches IVF-Register (D·I·R) reports assisted reproduction treatments in Germany in 2010, appears as a modified reprint from J Reproduktionsmed Endokrinol 2011; 8 (4): 253-80, and is described in its foreword as the 15th yearbook. The foreword states that since 1996 the yearbooks have documented 1,006,226 treatment cycles and the live births of 160,099 children. For 2010, the register lists 124 register participants (Registerteilnehmer), 77,904 documented treatment cycles and 47,159 treated women. According to the foreword, treatment numbers continued a gradual rise in 2010 after the drop in treatment cycles it attributes to the Gesundheitssystemmodernisierungsgesetz of 2004, and a topical section presents cumulative birth rates after ART.
