Abstract

This yearbook (Jahrbuch 2018) of the Deutsches IVF-Register (D·I·R) presents nationwide figures on reproductive medicine treatments in D·I·R centers and appears as a modified reprint in the Journal für Reproduktionsmedizin und Endokrinologie. The foreword states that the D·I·R has 135 member centers and that the yearbook contains data on treatment cycles from 2017 (cycle outcomes and births) and 2018 (cycle outcomes) from 131 centers. The summary section reports 106,890 documented treatment cycles and states that two thirds of all treatments were carried out as fresh cycles and one third as frozen-thaw cycles. The focus topic of the 2018 yearbook is cryopreservation, and the report gives pregnancy rates for 2018 and birth rates for 2017 for fresh and frozen-thaw cycles.
