Assisted Reproduction · Registries and Reporting
Abstract
This yearbook (Jahrbuch 2017) of the Deutsches IVF-Register (D·I·R) presents data on assisted reproduction in Germany and appears as a modified reprint in the Journal für Reproduktionsmedizin und Endokrinologie. The summary section states that 127 of 134 German fertility centers exported their data by the cutoff date and that 109,779 treatment cycles, fresh and frozen-thaw, were carried out in 2017. The yearbook reports pregnancy rates for fresh and frozen-thaw cycles in 2017 and births after transfers in 2016, and presents treatment results cumulatively for the first time. Its focus topic, "Weniger ist mehr!" (Less is more!), addresses multiple births, and the foreword states that one in three of the more than 20,000 children born after ART in 2016 was a twin.
