Assisted Reproduction · Registries and Reporting
Abstract
This yearbook (Jahrbuch 2016) of the Deutsches IVF-Register (D·I·R) presents data on assisted reproduction in Germany and appears as a modified reprint in the Journal für Reproduktionsmedizin und Endokrinologie. The foreword states that the 2016 analysis is based on usable exports from 128 centers with 100,844 documented plausible cycles from 2016. The report gives pregnancy rates per transfer for fresh and frozen-thaw cycles in 2016 and states that 20,949 children were born after transfers in 2015. The focus topic of the yearbook, "Weniger ist mehr!" (Less is more!), addresses multiple births in ART cycles, and the foreword gives twin birth rates for 2015 of 21.5% in fresh cycles and 15.3% in frozen-thaw cycles.
