Assisted Reproduction · Registries and Reporting
Abstract
This yearbook of the German IVF Register (DIR) presents the register's analysis for the year 1998, the third since the establishment of its Federal Office in Bad Segeberg. The preface reports that 91 centres made their treatment results available and gives 46730 documented treatment cycles. The preface attributes this result in part to the second amendment of the German Medical Association's guidelines for carrying out assisted reproduction, with their explicit integration of the register, and describes the participants' effort as currently still undertaken voluntarily. The yearbook reports IVF, ICSI and cryopreservation results and the birth weight and week of gestation of children born.
