DIR Jahrbuch 2006 (Deutsches IVF-Register Annual Report 2006)

Deutsches IVF-Register e.V.

Deutsches IVF-Register Jahrbuch, 2007

Abstract

This yearbook (Jahrbuch) of the Deutsches IVF-Register (D.I.R.) reports assisted reproduction treatments in Germany in 2006 and, according to its foreword, is the 11th annual evaluation since the register was reorganized in 1996. For 2006, the register lists 122 register participants (Registerteilnehmer) and 61,581 documented treatment cycles, of which 58,806 were classed as plausible. The foreword reports that the average age of treated couples rose again in 2006 and links that rise to the financial burden imposed by the Gesundheitssystemmodernisierungsgesetz (GMG) of 2004. The tables cover results for IVF, ICSI and cryotransfer, results by the woman's age, children born, complications of egg retrieval, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and clinical pregnancy rates by center, with pregnancy outcomes and multiple births reported for 2005.
