Abstract

This yearbook of the German IVF Register (D·I·R) presents the register's analysis for the year 1997 and is published by the German Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGGG), the Working Group for Gynaecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine (AGGEF) and the Federal Association of Reproductive Medicine Centres of Germany (BRZ). The preface states that 75 reproductive medicine institutions participated and that the new D-I-R data capture program could only be used from the second half of 1997, with first-half data still collected using the old program system. The base data list 37962 documented treatment cycles (MEDIS and D-I-R), of which 30676 were fully analysable. For the first time, the register publishes results from prospectively collected data records, with 6847 fully analysable prospectively captured treatment cycles.
